The South's conspiracy of Civil War amnesia

As Confederate battle flags flap from truck grills, as Southern apologists seek glory in acts of treason, it is worth remembering that their forebears said clearly and without shame that they fought for slavery, writes Leonard Pitts Jr. If that makes someone uncomfortable, good. It should.
